VOLADOR is a short film set in Grand Rapids, Michigan, created by AVES Films and Rice Pictures. This was us telling the story we needed to tell. A story about migration, memory, identity, and what it means to belong to a place that doesn’t fully feel like yours yet.

We made VOLADOR with what we had. A a crew of local creatives who cared. We shot on location across Grand Rapids. Every shot was planned with intention. Every scene was built to feel lived in. The lighting, the wardrobe, the pacing, the silence. All of it worked together to stay true to Mateo’s world

We sold out Wealthy Theater in grand rapids to show VOLADOR to the community, the room got still. People saw themselves in Mateo
