Through The Eyes of Our Students
A documentary series that shifts the lens from staff to students. Inviting viewers to experience Kentwood Public Schools through the voices and lives of the people who know it best.
Documentary
School messaging often comes from principals, teachers, and administrators. While important, those voices can miss the everyday moments that define a student’s experience.
Kentwood Public Schools wanted to connect with their community in a way that felt personal, unfiltered, and authentic. The challenge was to show the heart of Kentwood without staging it, to let students tell their own story.

We spent time with a diverse group of students from East Kentwood High School, building trust and learning about their lives before the cameras rolled. Each episode follows a single student’s day, from their morning routine to after-school activities, capturing the real rhythm of life at Kentwood.
The stories are honest, layered, and as unique as the students themselves.Highlighting their ambitions, challenges, and the community that shapes them.

By allowing students to narrate their own stories, the series reveals the pride, diversity, and connection that define Kentwood Public Schools. it’s a reminder that a school’s true identity is found in its students.
